Giclee Services:

There are many methods used to reproduce photographic images or works of art.  Since the first art prints were made in 1989 with Iris printers, giclees (the term Gicle'e is "Gee-Clay" - French for spray nozzle) have improved with the advent of improved pigmented inks and higher resolution printers.  Although the term giclee originated in 1991 with Jack Duganne, who coined the term to refer to fine art prints created with a digital output, it has since been added to the printmakers vocabulary of fine art printmaking.

We use the latest equipment in Digital technology, a Roland Cammjet 500 capable of making up to 50 inch wide prints just about any length.  We use specially pigmented inks that Wilhelm Imaging Research, Inc. has tested and rated to last over 120 years on Artists Rag paper.  These pigmented inks are bright, have a large color gamut, and offer UV stability.   There is a large selection of print media to choose from ranging from photographic paper to Artist's canvas , Rag paper to polysilk material.  The pricing will depend on the resolution required.  Most prints can be done at 720 Dpi or less.  Photographic quality (1440 Dpi) is also available at a slightly higher cost.

Requirements for reproducing prints:

We can scan in artwork that is  12 x 17 directly.    Larger originals will be photographed and placed on  a CD.   We do not provide this service in house, but we do have access to several quality outside firms that are working with us.

We can also print from Zip discs, either 100 or 250 meg., or from your CD.

 Pricing Schedule:

  To scan in artwork and provide one proof is $50.00.  Additional proofs are $25.00 each.

 Additional touch up and special requests will be billed at $40.00 per hour in increments of 15 min.

Archiving prints up to one year on a Zip disc is $15.00

Prints done at 720 Dpi on Artists Rag paper are $8.00 per square foot.

Prints done at 360 Dpi on Artists Rag paper are $6.00 per square foot.

Artists canvas add $.50 per square foot.

Prints on any other media will be quoted upon request.

Our only requirement is a $100 minimum for prints.  You can mix and match sizes to cover the minimum.   Compare our pricing to our competitors that use an Iris print that would require large quantities to bring the cost down to $11.00 to as high as $18.00 per sq. ft.  For larger quantities (more than 50 square feet, we will reduce the cost to $7.00/ft2 for 720 Dpi on Artists Rag paper)

These prices are based on actual print size.  Any border or waste will be calculated as a separate cost based on the paper used..
