Judith has been studying art since the age of nine, when she began at the Maryland Institute of Art. After college and her early years of secondary English teaching, she launched her career as an artist, combining her love of teaching as well as her love of painting.

Throughout the many intervening years of teaching, self-study, and painting, she is presently focused on water-based media: traditional watercolor, mixed media, collage, crayons, pastel, inks, and acrylic. Her work flows easily from the impressionistic to the abstract, as she translates her love of experimentation into paintings that reflect her unique view of the world. She incorporates Celtic design into intricate mixed water media paintings. Other themes grow out of extensive travel to Europe: cathedrals and sacred spaces, ancient places, architectural impressions of sites she returns to: Paris, Nice, the Luberon, Venice, Florence. Once a year for the past ten years, she has led painting groups to many of these spots, always sharing her love of a place with painting as she inspires and encourages her students to paint on location.

She believes that the creative spirit resides in each individual, and part of the adventure of life is in self-discovery. She believes in personal growth and change, and she hopes that her paintings will continue to testify to that growth. Because of this belief she has begun working with public elementary schools in Artist-in-Residence programs. Along with her husband, Walter, she also conducts works shops in Art and Spirituality.

Judith's work has been seen in Reading, Pennsylvania USA at the Callowhill Art Gallery, Shillington, as well as by appointment at her studio. She is also represented by the Art Bank, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her work hangs in many public, corporate, and private collections in the United States and Europe.
